Mikhail Voskresensky commands an international reputation as a  pianist in the great Romantic tradition. He is prizewinner of four  international piano competitions (Schumann in Berlin, in Rio de Janeiro,  George Enescu in Bucharest, and Van Cliburn in Fort Worth, Texas). In  1966 he was honoured with the Merited Artist of Russia award and in  1989, the People's Artist of Russia. Mikhail Voskresensky has extensive  concert experience. He is the only pianist in Russia to perform all of  Chopin's piano compositions during one concert season; this in 1982 /  83, in nine recitals in the Maly Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire. In  1957 the young pianist took part in the Prague Spring Festival where he  performed European premiere of Shostakovich Second Piano concerto  with the presence of Shostakovich himself.

Mikhail Voskresensky is a distinguished professor at the Moscow  Conservatory, the chair of the professorship of piano faculty. His pupils  have won 126 international prizes including 55 gold medals. Mikhail  Voskresensky is President of the Scriabin International Society and  Guest Professor in the Toho Gakuen School in Tokyo.

Although Mr. Voskresensky devotes many of his efforts to teaching and  giving master classes in various countries, he undoubtedly considers his  primary purpose to be performing. Voskresensky is an extraordinary  and unique musician: when hearing his playing one can feel his sincere  and subtle soul - a rare thing, indeed, in our rational times. He recorded  more than 50 CD's, including a box with all Mozart Piano Concertos  (2013) and a 5CD box (2015) with all Mozart Piano Sonatas.

Biography

Internationally renowned pianist, recording artist and pedagogue, Polish-born artist ADAM WODNICKI has received acclaim on  five continents for his dramatic interpretations, poetic sensitivity and brilliant technique. He can be heard on Muza, Folkways, Centaur, Wergo, Altarus, Klavier, and Dux labels. Recordings of cello and piano sonatas by Dzubay, Muczynski and Shostakovich with cellist Carter Enyeart (Centaur) and solo discs with piano works by Ignacy Jan Paderewski (Altarus) received rave notices: ‘one of the year’s best contemporary chamber music albums’ (Chicago Tribune), ‘incontestable brilliance’ (H.C. Schonberg in American Record Guide), and ‘a recording by a master pianist’ (Journal of the American Liszt Society). Wodnicki’s recording of the three Piano Trios by Robert Muczynski (Centaur) was chosen by a Fanfare critic as one of the top five albums on the ‘Best of 2004’ list; and the 2008 release on the Dux label of the Piano Concertos by Serocki, Baird and Krenz received a Polish Phonographic Academy nomination for the 2009 Fryderyk Award. Adam Wodnicki has also made numerous radio and TV recordings, including recordings of piano concertos by Serocki, Baird, Krenz and Stojowski.

He has concertized and taught in North and South America, Europe, Africa and the Far East. He has appeared in such musical centers as Kraków, Warsaw, Helsinki, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei, Tel Aviv, Pretoria and Prague. Since 1991 he has returned yearly to his native Poland for highly successful tours; his appearance at the Paderewski Festival in Kraków was described by the press as a ‘pianistic sensation’ (Czas Krakowski).

Adam Wodnicki studied with Jan Hoffman, Guido Agosti and Gyorgy Sebok, and his artistic roots can be traced to the traditions of Fryderyk Chopin, Franz Liszt and Ferrucio Busoni. Three-time prizewinner of the annual Chopin Society National Piano Competition in Warsaw and the recipient of three prizes at the 8th Festival of Polish Pianists, Wodnicki is Regents Professor of Piano at the University of North Texas in Denton. Direktor Antoni Grudziński,

The Fryderyk Chopin Society, Warsaw, Poland

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is with great pleasure that I heard about the establishment
of the International Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in
Lahr. The initiative deserves the highest praise, especially
that the persons committed to this idea are wonderful,
competent, determined and, most importantly, music loving
people. This is the main reason why I deeply believe that the Academy project
will be a success and Lahr will become an important cultural centre in Europe.
I was especially happy to hear that the promotion of Fryderyk Chopin’s work
will be high on the Academy’s agenda. Chopin was a Polish composer, however,
his music is universally human and appeals to everyone, regardless of their
nationality, religion and skin colour. It is especially important given the realities
of the world today. As early as 1849, Polish poet Cyprian Kamil Norwid
wrote the prophetic words about Chopin: „A Varsovian by birth, a Pole at heart,
a citizen of the world by virtue of his talent.”
I congratulate you on your initiative, I wish the Academy many years
of great achievements and I look forward to fruitful cooperation between
our institutions.
